ARRA FLORIDA TRANSIT STIMULUS FUNDS

FPTA is pleased to list the Urban and Rural projects planned and funded from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for Florida. Not all agencies have been able to respond to date, but will be added as they come available, shortly.

Statewide, Florida received $290.4 Million is Section 5307 Formula funds, that go directly to counties and municipalities. We also received $5.4 Million in 5309 Formula funds for Fixed Guideway Modernization. Lastly, Florida received $20.3 Million in 5311 Non-urbanized formula funds, which flow through our DOT. These are listed under the Florida DOT Icon below.

Florida’s Public Transit systems will benefit greatly from these funds as we are able to utilize them for urgently needed new buses, maintenance facilities, shelters and other ways to provide services to our patrons. We appreciate, and thank, the President and Congress for this opportunity to truly both stimulate our state’s economy, and provide infrastructure and improved transit services.

The projects are listed by transit agency, and will be constantly updated as more details come in.
