FPTA 2012 Legislative Agenda
  1. FPTA will oppose the recouping of currently committed General  Revenue funds to the Transportation Trust Fund for other purposes. 

  2. FPTA will support efforts to obtain for transit and transportation a portion of the new auto related fees passed in 2009 to be returned to the Transportation Trust Fund in future years.

  3. FPTA will support measures that allow ALL community colleges to support local transit by using student fees.

  4. FPTA will support efforts to maintain funding for the Transportation Disadvanaged program - and support continuation of the Coordinated System within Chapter 427.

  5. FPTA will support legislation that restricts use of texting and non-furnished electronic devices by transit employees while vehicles are in motion.

  6. FPTA will support allowing counties to impose local option motor fuel taxes by a majority, rather than a super-majority vote, of  county commissions.

  7. FPTA will support the indexing of Local Option Motor Fuel taxes in a manner similar to the current indexing of the State Motor Fuel Tax.
