All Entries / Law Student Writes Book in the Free Time During His Transit Commute, Gets it Published

I am just finishing up my second year at the University of Miami School of Law and I've used the Miami Metro for several months now.  For the first few months of school I would drive and park at the school, but I wasn't happy with that arrangement because of the cost of gas, and the amount of time sitting in traffic—that and I was late to class at least once a week due to the traffic.  So I started taking the metro, and my world has opened up.

I haven't been late once since taking public transportation, and I've saved loads of money on gas and parking.  Probably the most important benefit to me, though, was the amount of time I saved by taking the metro.   At first I would just study while I rode to and from school, but even then I found myself with extra time.  I've always wanted to be a writer, so I filled my time by outlining a book to give advice to fellow law students.

Day after day I would sit on the metro, adding more and more to my outline.  Before long, I had written a book on how to be a more efficient and effective law student.  I sent out some letters and what do you know, I found a publisher and my book is being published this summer!  All because of the time I'd saved by riding the metro to and from school!  Riding the metro has never been anything but a positive experience--with visible benefits as well!

The book is called Law School Fast Track published by The Fine Print Press, and will be available this summer.
