Top “Tell Your Story” Entries All Entries / Adam, a Junior in Highschool, Was Able to Interview Haitian Ambassador Using Transit My name is Adam Gaetz, and I'm a Junior in high school. I volunteer my time at the Pinellas County Schools Largo Administration Building at WPDS TV 14, their broadcasting TV department. I'm constantly involved with shooting events, and because I have no transportation, I ride the very environmentally friendly PSTA. The reduced student fare is amazing, and the great deals are endless. In February, I was shooting the soccer district games at Pepin-Rood Stadium in Tampa for a variety of TV shows, and on one of those days, I was given a break to just relax. I then received a call from my producer who told me to meet him at Tampa International Airport to interview the Haitian Ambassador to the United States. I was devastated that I had no ride, but immediately looked up a PSTA route. I took the very convenient 100X bus over the Gandy Bridge and made a quick transfer to the 30 bus that took me strait to Tampa International. I was just on time to the Airport, and went up to the county conference rooms where I caught the Haitian Ambassador coming out with his security, and had the privilege to conduct a personal interview with him about the earthquake in Haiti, money, tariffs, and why he was in Florida. PSTA gave me the proudest, most outstanding moment in my life, and I'm forever grateful. They have been able to get me to any event I need to be at when it comes to my growing career in TV, and without them, my portfolio would not be as impressive as it is. I owe so much thanks to PSTA for being the reason that I can advance in my career. Thank you PSTA. |
