Since I am not able to afford gas or even a car, I used to always be asking my mom for a ride. But, I know the economy today is like a reincarnation of the Great Depression. But, you know parents, they will do whatever they can to support their children. My mom is one of those parents. She has to go to school, she has to go to work, and take care of my sister who has autism. She is dependent on me to come straight home after school to take of Nicole(my sister). Since my mom has so much on her plate already, missing the bus is no option. But it has happened on several occasions, I remember this one time specifically. I was having a panic attack for not making on it my school bus. A friend of mine suggested for me to take 137th bus. I was panting so much from running, I thought my heart was going to prounce out of my mouth. I made it to that stop, once the bus arrived the doors opened as if I was going to heaven. I went to go show my ID to the bus driver, he took it away from me, then gave it back. I think he was checking if it was fake. I sat down on that bus, I felt so relieved and safe because I knew I was going home. When we finally arrived in my area, the bus driver saw that I took one of those route slips. Since he knew I was new, he offered me a book of routes instead. DEDICATIONS: |
