HOW THE PUBLIC TRANSIT SYSTEM HAS BEEN A HELP TO ME

transit contest.JPGI use the Public Transit system every day of the month to travel to one city to the other.  I start my day nine o’clock in the morning on the corner of northwest thirty-seventh avenue and Grand Avenue in Coconut Grove, Florida which connects to the thirty-seventh bus way.  While on board I am overwhelmed by the exciting view of the city.  Lounging back on the luxurious smooth fabric seats and taking in the amazing air conditioned filled atmosphere, I am interrupted by arriving to a unique yet venturous Metrorail station called Douglas Road.  I conveniently get off the bus, board the rail and mark my destination going north bound to Martin Luther King metro rail station, which is stationed at northwest twenty-seven avenue and northwest sixty-second street.  After exiting the station, I board the sixty-two bus way which lets me off at the corner of northwest twenty-second avenue and sixty-second street so I could connect to the twenty-two bus way, which is minutes away from one of my lovely daughters’ house.

When I want to visit another amazing daughter, who lives on northwest seventeen avenue and fifty-first terrace, I just head in the opposite direction after getting off at sixty-second and northwest twenty-second avenue and get on the fifty-four bus way heading east bound located on fifty-four street.  After exiting the twenty-two bus way, I get on the seventeen bus way, and get off right across the street from my daughter’s house.

The Public Transit system gives me easy access to locations not only in the city but it also networks with the Amtrak, Tri rail, air lines and cruise line as well.  When I want to go shopping I can explore the downtown shopping district.  When I want a dinner and a movie, I can explore the Coco walk district. When I just want to lay back and relax in the sun, I can explore the Miami Beach district.

The Public Transit system is very vital to my everyday living.  I depend upon it everyday.  I don’t have a car, so not having access to this wonderful system would sentence me to stay at my house.  This lost of freedom would greatly affect my mental health.  I am in the middle age bracket, so staying active is a priority.  The Public Transit system helps me maintain my health by allowing me to ride stress free and not actually having to be behind the wheel.

The Public Transit drivers are friendly, helpful and courteous. They are always smiling and are eager to direct you to the right destination.  Whoever came up with the easy card and easy ticket should be commended.  The Public Transit system is very helpful or should is say, “It Rocks!”
